Final Commercial blog!

Image
Drum roll please… The commercial is finally finished, and I’m so happy with the outcome! I worked very hard editing trying to get this video as perfect as possible. I really like the way we showed how Red Bull and advertised it. The sports we chose worked perfectly with the video also. The most important is that my group and I worked together very nicely. We all put major effort in making this commercial. I really enjoyed the project overall. It was very fun to make, this class is a very good fit for my interests! So now it’s time for the reveal. A Red Bull advertisement like no other!

Editing Skateboarding clips

Image
Hello again! So today In class we finished our editing! We are so happy with the outcome. I edited the skateboarding clips, while my group found a good song for the commercial. I took the first clip where Darrow was skating and the clip was from his knees and down. I cut the clip and made it a quick transition. For the next clip we slowed it down to make it more dramatic. We also slowed it down to make it look more skilled. Skating is very hard and especially in school, so we didn’t do a lot of hard tricks just for safety. I took a lot of the clips and cut them because they were pretty long. Like I said while I was doing this they picked out a song. They picked out a song by Kanye West, called “No Child Left Behind”. It is a good inspirational song that is good for a sporty commercial like this. At the very end we added the clip of Darrow jumping high in the air outside. We edited the Red Bull slogan on the picture and put wings on him to fit the slogan. We froze the clip so it is slow

editing clips on the track

Welcome back to my commercial journey! Today had to be one of my favorite days for sure. I edited half our video today. When I was in class, I used the app iMovie and created our commercial through there. I first started by adding the scene of Darrow running on the track where he was drained of energy. I put this first to show the lead up on the effect of the actual Red Bull. I cut the clip a little bit just to make sure I left room for all the others, as the video can only be 30 seconds. Next I added and edited the clip of someone handing the Red Bull to him. I also was adding transitions throughout each scene to give it a clean and professional look. All the clips were looking really good together and going together smoothly. Next we decided to put in all the rest of the clips from the track. We edited some to make them slow-motion. While for others, we sped them up to make them faster. I used a slide transition into some clips where it was a different location. Today my main focus

Filming on the track

Back at it again with the filming! Today my group and I went to the school track to do some of our final filming. Dellana (our filmer) was unfortunately absent. So it was just Darrow and myself today, so I was filming for her. We were filming for quite some time trying to get some good clips. We brought in a new Red Bull as well to use. I first filmed the clip of him running slowly and all burnt out of energy. Then I kindly asked a fellow classmate if he could be the actor in which who offers Darrow the Red Bull because he is so tired. I then filmed that clip and it turned out great. The next scene I filmed was the actual opening of the can of Red Bull. I was really trying to capture that crisp sound of opening a can of Red Bull. Next we had to film him actually drinking the energy drink and getting a sudden rush in his body. We then filmed him running very fast and jumping over the hurdles on the track. Darrow was being very cooperative as it was very hot outside. The last thing I wa

Filming skateboarding

Hello there again! Today was the first day my group and I filmed for our commercial. Last time I blogged, I talked about how and what we were going to plan on filming. So today for filming we decided to work on the skateboarding scene because it was the most difficult. We modified it in a way that would be more safe for our actor. We got a little too ahead of ourselves when writing in the scene where someone would fly over the stairs on a skateboard. So we modified it in a way that is safe and still a great scene. We went to the stairs outside of the auditorium, while Darrow (our actor) was the one skating. Dellana (our filmer) was the one filming the scene. She recorded him from his legs down doing some cool tricks with the skateboard. This would be one of the scenes where he gets his boost of energy from the Red Bull, and can do all this crazy cool stuff. We got a lot of useful great clips. We used the slow-motion effect on our phone we recorded with to make it look more dramatic
